Har Ghar Hara Ghara marked Earth Week with students of three schools across Mumbai, and a community outreach programme for children.

Beacon High School (Khar West), April 12, 2022

In addition to talking to children about plastic and electronic waste recycling, Hansu spoke with students about the role of NGOs and how NGOs raise funds for their work. Students then conducted an electronic and plastic waste collection drive for recycling.

Shishuvan School (Matunga) Earth Day Celebrations, April 22, 2022

HGHG was invited to attend Earth Day celebrations at Shishuvan School. A variety of events for pre-primary through high school age groups were conducted including a “nukkad natak” on planting trees, a plastic bottle collection drive and instructions on how to participate in the milk bag recycling project.

For the session at Shishuvan School, we had been invited by the Swiss Consul General and the head of the EVS department to attend the Swiss it On Wheels event. This is a bus which is traveling across India to spread environmental awareness in schools across the country.

Ascend International School, (Santa Cruz East), April 12, 2022

HGHG’s Hansu Pardiwala gave a talk on the importance of responsible electronic waste recycling to 7th standard students at Ascend International School (Bandra East). The school is now conducting an electronic waste awareness drive and collection.

Eco-Bricks Demo, (Cuffe Parade), April 23, 2022

HGHG organized a fun hour for children ages 4 – 8 to raise awareness, and more importantly, to demonstrate how to make eco-bricks, an easy and innovative solution to prevent plastic from becoming trash! Eco-bricks can be used to make walls, furniture and other structures. The activity was kicked off with story-teller Ritu Jalan captivating the children and their parents with a story about ‘George who wanted to be a super hero and save the Earth’!
